D.G. Thomas is a storyteller, strategist, and champion of independent voices.
She began her writing journey with The Magic Chest: Sands of Time, inspired by the bedtime stories she created for her children. That spark grew into a full-fledged series, including Dancing 'Til Dusk, Halloween Hideout, and Seaside Treasure. She’s also the author of the picture books Norris and Twig and The Flower Power Unicorns, all crafted to delight young readers with imaginative, diverse stories.
Expanding beyond children’s literature, Thomas now writes for audiences of all ages—including mystery lovers—with The Thorne Sisters Cozy Mystery Series, bringing her signature storytelling to small-town whodunits filled with charm, secrets, and suspense.
With over 25 years of experience as a marketing and communications professional in the higher education and nonprofit sectors—and more than a decade in the self-publishing world—Thomas has worked behind the scenes promoting indie authors, creating book marketing campaigns, and developing author brand strategies.
She now brings that experience to her newest venture: Mattison Savage Publishing, where she helps professionals, coaches, and consultants publish short, high-impact books that build authority, generate leads, and elevate their brand. As a published author, experienced marketer, and communications strategist, Thomas is passionate about helping others share their message with clarity and purpose.
A graduate of the University of Louisville and a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, she lives in Kentucky—where the grass isn’t really blue—with her daughter, son, and their ever-curious cat.
