Growing up, I was blessed to be part of a family that cherished and passed down the stories of our ancestors. My grandparents, who were raised in South Carolina and were just a couple of generations removed from slavery, understood the significance of knowing one's roots. They kept our family history alive through oral storytelling. This profound connection to my ancestry inspired me to create The Magic Chest Series.

The Magic Chest Book Series introduces readers to two African American siblings who have only a faint understanding of their family's past. After inheriting a house from their late grandfather, they stumble upon a magical chest in the attic. This chest becomes a portal to the past, transporting them on incredible adventures where they encounter their ancestors and uncover the rich tapestry of their family history.

The Magic Chest books offer captivating and enjoyable stories that appeal to more than just a young audience. My aim with the series is to spark meaningful conversations among families.
